EasyBases Example Build

Customer Build by EasyBases Team

When a dedicated solid foundation is not present, care must be taken to ensure EasyBases are installed appropriately, if at all. We agree the customer is always right in respect of what they wish for, we will always advise strongly against a chosen path should the aims be too optimistic for the chosen surface.

In this case, our team were able to undertake a survey of the site, including taking valuable history from the long-time resident and were able to create a level and stable raised platform within the boundaries given to us.

The siting position had well compacted soil with bedded-in but uneven paving tiles, providing an exact scenario EasyBases levelling feet were designed for.

  • This installation is an example of a site where the least possible preparation is required.
  • The 10’x12′ frame was supported with our Aluminum feet, including extras in the centre to improve load distribution.
  • The customer wanted a tiled surround to the shed that could be used to add ornaments or planters.
  • The combined height of the feet and EasyFrame was chosen to ensure any ground level flooding would have to reach about 10″ before making contact with the bottom of the shed. Due to considerations inherent to buildings on ‘stilts’, if intending to support a complete frame above this height, we would recommend contacting us for advice on custom options and new components that are in development.
  • By request during planning, spare tiling/masonry on-site was used to provide extra grounding for tiles and simplify levelling.
  • With the whole job completed in five hours, this is also an example of the quickest type of installation EasyBases can provide.

While we agree the sight of an old shed installed on the smooth lines of our black frame and tiles is slightly incongruous, it just goes to show how attached people can become to their garden retreat and who are we to tell you not to ‘pimp your shed’! We are looking forward to seeing how it looks when the platform surround is festooned with plants and ornaments this summer.
